Necklace and earring set made with pink and teal glass bead dangles fixed onto a sterling silver necklace. Some of these beads are cut glass and others are lamp worked. Earlier I wrote – KT commissioned me to re-design a necklace she had. The re-designed necklace set is pictured here: Here are the earrings and bracelet: Here’s what I did after I took the necklace apart and re-arranged the [...] The other day I received a commission from KT to “please, please can you DO something with this necklace?” There were a couple of specific needs that needed to be met. 1) I really don’t like that big green glass bead… it throws the necklace off and it’s heavy. Inspired by various Amer ican Indian designs. Using leather cord, plumbing parts, chain and metal. This necklace was made from some of the first semi-precious stones I ever bought at a Gem show. It’s one of my favorites for that reason. Well – the fact that it has purple beads doesn’t hurt either. I was at a convention the day I made this…talking to my friend Denneal and showing her various techniques. She really liked this simple and elegant design. Denneal pushed me to realize my dreams of starting the business and selling my own work after seeing several pieces I had made. EDIT: Ironically the first sale I [...] This necklace I made years and years ago out of fairly cheap parts…mostly base metals, plastic and painted wood beads. It still gets compliments any time I wear it. Just goes to show that good design in the cheapest materials can fool the eye nicely. I especially like the pseudo Indian feel which was inspired [...] A medley of spring green and pinks this necklace and earring set I’ve given the name Spring Song. |
