Here I again used multiple layers of fused clear, black and dichroic glass with mica powders. This is “Soul Stone II” – another item from a commissioned series. It’s my personal favorite from the series – however the buyer chose another larger piece instead. This one was cold worked on the glass grinder in addition to [...] This is “Soul Stone III” – it was part of a series I did for a commission. Commission pieces are done as a series with the buyer choosing their final purchase. A very tailored shape with an attractive mix of blue-green color on a white base. I was thinking of the sea when I made this one. To give this one the tailored look I wanted – I used my glass grinder to shape and smooth the sides into a longer leaner looking shape. This is a dainty light blue swirled glass with mixed blue accents. A small rounded fused glass pendant with a sprinkle of red (almost cranberry) and black frit on a white base. As discussed earlier – I have recently taken a workshop involving Boro glass and torch work. It was not jewelry specific – but I learned a couple of things and I’ll be using the pieces I made in some form of jewelry. I’m still working out my plans. However here is one picture I’ve [...] This year in lieu of chocolates, flowers or silly stuffed animals….. my very favorite person (who also happens to be my husband), bought us tickets to a “date night” at the The Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton , VA. This involved Ballroom dancing, snacks and a bar….. plus the good part… a 2 hour couples [...] These earrings are another set that were made as a series for a commission to go with a pendant that had already been purchased the prior year. I made 4 sets of earrings for this commision to give my customer a choice. A slightly larger version of this set was chosen.
